Learning a valuable lesson

Autumn trees with orange and green foliage reflect perfectly on a serene lake. Clear blue sky above enhances the tranquil scene.
Grey squirrel perched on tree branch, surrounded by autumn leaves in shades of orange and green, with soft sunlight filtering through.

A robin with an orange breast perches on a branch among red berries. The background is a natural, blurred woodland setting.
A robin with an orange chest stands on dry brown leaves, blending into the autumnal forest floor with subtle light and shadows.

As it was predicted to be a beautiful Saturday morning this week I made sure that I got up early to make the most of it. Unfortunately, I still managed to leave late and found that the morning charge of runners and dog walkers had beaten me to it. Certain that I would not get any wildlife photographs I "contented" myself with some nice reflection shots of Fewston reservoir and some shots of the grey squirrels who are not phased by anything.

Still in a seriously bad mood for "wasting" the morning I made my way off the beaten path for my own act of nature. After a few minutes I realised that the trees around me were filled with small birds who were also hiding from the activity on the track. With so many to choose from I focused on a friendly little Robin who seemed very happy to have his picture taken.

Obviously the skills that I need to work on include "chillaxing" and looking for opportunities off the beaten track.
